Tomas Kaberle Traded

Tomas Kaberle was finally traded to the Boston Bruins for 6'5",21 year old Joe Colborne, Boston's 1st round pick in the 2011 entry draft, and a conditional 2nd in 2012 (If Kaberle re-signs in Bos or if Bos go to the Cup). Kaberle should be a big help on a struggling blue line in Boston heading into the play-offs. Here are Tomas Kaberle's carree play-off stats.
Season Team        GP          G         A         P       +/-         PIM       PP     SH         GW

1998-1999 Maple Leafs 14 0 3 3 0 2 0 0 0

1999-2000 Maple Leafs 12 1 4 5 2 0 0 0 1

2000-2001 Maple Leafs 11 1 3 4 4 0 0 0 1

2001-2002 Maple Leafs 20 2 8 10 7 16 0 0 0

2002-2003 Maple Leafs 7 2 1 3 -6 0 1 0 1

2003-2004 Maple Leafs 13 0 3 3 1 6 0 0 0

NHL Totals                            77          6         22       28          8        24         1           0       3
As you can see, on the Maple Leafs the 14 year vet didn't get much play-off time missing 8 seasons. When Tomas was battling for the cup, he had a  +8 in 77 games. Kaberle will most likely be joining Chara on the blue line for the power-play, and will be expected to play a major role in the Bruins play off run.

"Also, memo to delusional Leaf fan who think they may get 2011 1st rder back from BOS. It is NOT happening except in your dreams."

So as noted above, this trade was impossible, just a few days ago and I had a heated argument with him calling me crazy. I  feel that Kaberle could possibly bring the Bruins to the cup final, that being said his worth is at least a 1st rd pick in 2011. Boston has to much pride to give the leafs back the 1st round pick they received from Toronto, for the services of Phill Kessel. If the Bruins were to have parted with the Toronto 1st,  the leafs could bomb the remainder of the season to ensure a better pick. For Brian Burke to send Kaberle to Boston he pushed for the 16th overall pick in the 2006 draft (Joe Colborn), and the conditional 2nd rounder. This is a trade that helps both teams. It helps Boston now and Toronto later. There was rumored to be another 1st offered to the leafs but Burke declined the trade.

I will have a full recap on all the trades made today.
