Hockeymans febuary 12 recap

Hockey day in Canada started off with a great telecast from scotia bank and cbc sports. Ron Maclean and Don Cherry went interactive with the jr Crosby's of the NHL in a tearful affair.  Ottawa Breaks 11 Game Losing  Streak !!!!!!! Edmonton hosted the struggling sens in a matinee of hockey. Alex Kovalev led the way with 2 goals, 1 assist and went a stunning +3 in a 5-3 win over the oil. In the first period Chris Neil got pushed into goalie Khabibulin and may have rattled the vetran. Sam Gagner and Paajarvi were a combined -4,  the young guns never really had a chance to get going playing catch-up all game. Price Shuts Down The Leafs !!!!!! After the hard game in Boston, Montreal hosted the Toronto maple leafs in a good old fashion hockey night in Canada. Both teams came out strong and there was a fight with Toronto's new forward Joffrey Lupul and P K Suban( http://bit.ly/g7E9OV ). We will call it a draw. The real action didn't start till the second when i don't think i saw the same maple leaf team come on the ice. They were flat and it had coach Ron Wilson struggling to find line combination's. Putting the old line of Grabovski  Macarthur and Kulemin together, this move had the leafs scrambling, resulting in 2 goals in the second.for the habs. With that lead and the Maple Leafs resorting to hooking and holding, goalie Carey Price could relax in the third and hold on to his 7th shut out of the season. Could this spell the end of Wilson????????? The hot Flames get their First regulation loss in 11 games. Calgary headed into the house that lou built with all  intentions in keeping there wining streak alive. The Flames took the lead in the middle of the second seeing Canuck killer Tim Jackman and goalface (Curtis Glencross) scoring 2 quick goals. But the wheels feel off after back to back games seemed to catch up to the flames. Mikael Samuelsson and Alex Burrows potted 2 goals each as the Vancouver Canuck's and goalie Roberto Luongo continue to dominate the league. Around the NHL, saw Phoenix  Coyotes coach Dave Tippet get his 350th career win as they downed the Chicago Black Hawks. L.A. bounced back from an early first shot goal from Alex the great as they scored 4 unanswered goals to beat the struggling Washington Capitals 4-1. Could Perter Foresburg be a problem in Colorado??????? I think so..... The Av's have lost 2 straight and looked as if everyone was waiting for the former all-star to do something, .Nashville's new forward Mike Fisher gets an assist in his debut with the Pred's.
