Hockeymans "3 games to watch this week"
With all of the old fashion hockey being played hockey fans have a lot of action to follow. Last week saw, great fights, stellar goals and another player going down with a direct HEADSHOT.That left the NHL no choice but to lay down the law and hand out suspension's to #Pens Eric Goddard 10 games for leaving the bench, and to #NYI's Trevor Gillies 9 games, Matt Martin 4gms + $100k fine for the team. When you pay Rick Dipietro to sit in the press box and they can hardly fill 10,000 seats where is the money coming from????? Mairo Lemieux (pens co-owner and former all-star) was not impressed with the calls made by the nhl, but I feel every player that committed a major infraction was dealt with accordingly. So chill out "super mairo" . Last week also saw young hurricane's forward Jeff Skinner contiune his great play scoring 4 goals in 4 games. That being said look for Skinner and Staal to try and break the 4 game wining streak of the New Jersey Devils Feb 16. On Valentines day, my game of choice will be the Vancouver Canucks taking on Jaroslav Halak and the St Louis Blues. With the Canuck's on fire and leading the leauge with 81 points, I am looking to see a battle of goalies. Both goalies have a GAA close to 2.5 but Halak's .901 SV% might bite him in the ass, with all the shots he will be facing from the hot Alex Burrows and the point hungry Sedins. The final game to watch this week should be the Detroit Red Wings. They will be heading to the hot sun of Tampa Bay to get a nice tan, with 2 big wins over the Bruins. A healthy Todd Bertuzzi out scored the entire bruins team 4-3 over the 2 games this weekend. Tampa Bay lighting have a tough game(Philadelphia Flyer's) prior to hosting the wings that might slow them down when the wings bring their non-stop pressure and great defensive play.. The Wings have 4 days off before facing the Lightning , so look for a rested Detroit team to take it to Tampa.
